The Sunalert is a modern redesign on a proven concept called a Heliograph; see Heliograph History, the principle of a heliograph is to take the suns light and focused it at a target. The Sunalert has taken the Heliograph and has designed it for the 21st century sportsman.
Sunalert consists of a designer rubberized ribbed wallet with turquoise detailing with belt loop. Held within the wallet is a Laser cut Acrylic mirror and paddle fore sight, the mirror has instructions on the rear. All secured together by a fluorescent yellow lanyard. The Sunalert comes with an instruction booklet.
The unique design and use of materials enable all parts to float if dropped whilst in used in a water environment.
Sunalert’s have been designed to be use within most outdoor sports and pass times. The materials used in manufacture are all water resilient. With sports wear weight is a consideration; the Sunalert weighs in at only 34g making it a viable visual location aid without compromising weight.
The Sunalert can be worn on a belt or strap, for the occasion when you need to draw attention to yourself, this doesn’t necessary have to be an emergency, just any reason. If you are interested follow this link to an independent test carried out by Dive magazine. History
A Heliograph is a devise that sends a massage by the use of the sun light. A Heliograph is a simple but highly effective instrument for instantaneous optical communication. Interestingly Heliographs have been extensively used in the military, being standard issue in the British and Australian armies until the 1960s, and were used by the Pakistani army as late as 1975. The word Heliograph comes from the Greek helios meaning “Sun”, and grephein meaning “write”.
